Press Release on the first round of Russia-India-China Consultation on Asia-Pacific Affairs

According to the consensus reached in the 14th Russia-India-China Foreign Ministers' Meeting on April 18, 2016 in Moscow, the first round of Russia-India- China Consultation on Asia-Pacific Affairs was held in Beijing on December 1, 2016. The consultation was attended by representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Ministry of External Affairs of India, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

The three parties conducted in-depth exchange of views on the situation in the Asia-Pacific region, foreign policy towards Asia, regional security architecture, coordination within regional and multilateral fora, anti-terrorism and other acute, topical regional issues. The three parties agreed that as important countries in the region, Russia, India and China have extensive common interests and close views on many aspects of regional agenda. Trilateral consultations will contribute to strengthening practical coordination on regional and global issues. The three parties are satisfied with the outcome of the consultation.

The three parties stand ready to hold the next round of consultation next year.
